WHAT ARE THE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS?
Master Masons who have continuously been in good standing in a Texas Lodge working under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Texas, or a Texas Chapter working under the jurisdiction of the Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Texas, for 5 years preceding the application are eligible. Application must be made through the Master Mason's Lodge or Chapter. In the case of a couple, the wife must also complete a separate Application for Admission. Also eligible for admission are the wives, widows, divorced or widowed mothers, never married sisters, and never married daughters of Texas Master Masons who are in good standing with their Texas Lodge or Chapter, and members of a Texas Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. When the wife or widow of a Master Mason applies for admission, she must have been continuously married to the eligible Mason for three (3) years prior to the time of admission.
Because the TMRC is an Independent Living Center rather than a nursing home, all Applicants must be totally capable of self care prior to admission. This includes but is not limited to: The ability to walk without the aid of a wheelchair, walker, or crutches; a cane or quad cane is permissible. Applicants must be able to bathe and dress themselves, and take their own medication without supervision. Those who have been diagnosed with Cancer or Tuberculosis are ineligible for admission, as well as those who have severe hearing, speech, or sight impairments. Alcoholics and drug addicts will not be admitted, nor will those who are of unsound mind. This includes but is not limited to: Alzheimer's Disease, Organic Brain Syndrome, or any type of Dementia.
